Method
- Chill your margarita glass in the freezer for at least 15 minutes.
- If desired, prepare the rim of your glass by moistening it with a lime wedge and dipping it in salt or sugar.
- To make the cinnamon syrup, combine water, sugar, and cinnamon sticks in a saucepan.
- Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring until sugar is dissolved.
- Reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes, allowing the cinnamon to infuse.
- Remove from heat and let cool completely. Strain through a fine-mesh sieve.
- In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, combine the tequila, cinnamon syrup, allspice dram, lime juice, and orange liqueur.
- Close the shaker tightly and shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds.
- Strain the margarita into your chilled, rimmed glass filled with fresh ice.
- Garnish with a cinnamon stick, an orange slice, and a few fresh cranberries (if using).
- Serve immediately and enjoy!
Notes
If the margarita is too sweet, add more lime juice. For a spicier kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or use a more intense cinnamon syrup. If the margarita is too strong, add a splash of club soda or sparkling water. You can infuse the tequila with cinnamon sticks or orange peels for added flavor. For a non-alcoholic version, replace the tequila with a non-alcoholic alternative or sparkling apple cider. Cinnamon syrup can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
