  • 1 lime, juiced
  • 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
  • 1 avocado, diced

  • Mixing bowls
  • Citrus juicer
  • Measuring cups and spoons

  • Tongs or spatula
  • Small bowl for crema

Method

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the shrimp, olive oil, chili powder, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, cumin, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Toss to coat evenly.
  2. Let the shrimp marinate for at least 30 minutes in the refrigerator for maximum flavor.
  3. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until pink and opaque. Be careful not to overcook the shrimp, as they will become rubbery.
  4. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and place them in a bowl. Squeeze the juice of 1 lime over the shrimp and toss to combine. Stir in the chopped cilantro.
  5. Prepare the spicy crema by whisking together sour cream, sriracha, lime juice and cilantro in a small bowl.
  6. Warm the tortillas according to package directions.
  7. Assemble the tacos by placing the spicy shrimp in the tortillas and topping with diced avocado, sliced red onion, spicy crema, and any other desired toppings.
  8. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

For best results, marinate the shrimp for at least 30 minutes to allow the spices to fully penetrate. Adjust the amount of cayenne pepper and sriracha to control the spice level. Warm the tortillas properly to prevent them from tearing. Consider adding a pinch of sugar to the spice blend for a touch of sweetness.
