Ingredients

  • 6 medium apples Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, or a mix
  • 1/2 cup lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 6 fun-size Twix bars, chopped
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce plus extra for drizzling
  • Pinch of sea salt optional

Equipment

  • Large mixing bowl
  • Sharp knife
  • Apple corer/slicer
  • Measuring cups
  • Measuring spoons
  • Whisk or electric mixer
  • Plastic wrap or airtight container
  • Serving bowl

Method

  1. Prepare the Apples: Core and dice the apples into bite-sized pieces. Immediately toss them with lemon juice in a bowl to prevent browning.
  2. Create the Creamy Base: In a large mixing bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy using a whisk or electric mixer.
  3. Fold in the Goodness: Gently fold in the thawed whipped topping until well combined. Be careful not to overmix, as this can deflate the topping.
  4. Combine and Chill: Add the diced apples (drain any excess lemon juice), chopped Twix bars, and caramel sauce to the cream cheese mixture. Gently fold everything together until evenly distributed.
  5. Chill Out: Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or preferably 2-3 hours, to allow the flavors to meld and the salad to chill thoroughly.
  6. Serve and Enjoy: Before serving, give the salad a gentle stir. If desired, drizzle with additional caramel sauce and sprinkle with extra chopped Twix. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

For best results, use a combination of tart and sweet apples like Granny Smith and Honeycrisp. Make sure the cream cheese is completely softened to avoid lumps in the base. Drain any excess lemon juice from the apples before adding them to the cream cheese mixture to prevent the salad from becoming watery. A pinch of sea salt enhances the caramel flavor and balances the sweetness. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. The apples may soften over time.
