Ingredients

  • 64 ounces pineapple juice
  • 64 ounces orange juice
  • 32 ounces guava nectar
  • 1 liter ginger ale or lemon-lime soda, chilled
  • 12 ounces frozen limeade concentrate, thawed
  • 1 cup white rum optional
  • 1 pineapple, cored and cut into chunks or rings
  • 2 oranges, sliced
  • 2 limes, sliced
  • 1 cup maraschino cherries
  • Coconut flakes optional
  • Ice cubes or large ice ring

Equipment

  • Large punch bowl or beverage dispenser
  • Measuring cups
  • Measuring spoons
  • Knife
  • Cutting board
  • Ladle
  • Glasses
  • Ice cube trays or bundt pan (for ice ring)
  • Optional: Shallow dish (for coconut flakes)
  • Optional: Lime wedge (for coconut flakes)

Method

  1. Wash and slice the pineapple, oranges, and limes. Reserve some slices for garnishing glasses later.
  2. Ensure the frozen limeade concentrate is completely thawed for easy mixing.
  3. Make sure your ginger ale (or lemon-lime soda) is well-chilled.
  4. In a large punch bowl or beverage dispenser, pour in the pineapple juice, orange juice, and guava nectar.
  5. Stir in the thawed limeade concentrate until well combined.
  6. If you're making an adult version, add the white rum and stir.
  7. Chill the mixture in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  8. Just before serving, slowly pour in the chilled ginger ale (or lemon-lime soda). Stir gently to combine, being careful not to flatten the bubbles.
  9. Add ice cubes or a large ice ring to the punch bowl.
  10. Arrange pineapple chunks, orange slices, lime slices, and maraschino cherries around the punch bowl for a festive look.
  11. If desired, rim the serving glasses with coconut flakes. Wet the rim of the glass with a lime wedge, then dip it into a shallow dish of coconut flakes.
  12. Ladle the Tropical Football Party Punch into the prepared glasses and garnish with additional fruit slices and cherries.
  13. Enjoy responsibly!

Notes

You can prepare the juice mixture (without the ginger ale or soda) up to 24 hours in advance and store it in the refrigerator. Adjust sweetness with simple syrup or lime juice. For a non-alcoholic version, omit the rum and consider adding coconut extract. Use football-shaped ice cubes or food coloring for a festive touch. For a dramatic presentation (adults only!), add a small piece of dry ice to the punch bowl right before serving, using extreme caution.
