Method
- In a small bowl, combine 2 tablespoons of pumpkin puree, 1 tablespoon of simple syrup, ¼ teaspoon of pumpkin pie spice, and ¼ teaspoon of vanilla extract.
- Whisk vigorously until smooth and well combined.
- Fill a rocks glass with ice.
- Add 2 ounces of vodka to the glass.
- Pour in 1 ounce of coffee liqueur (Kahlúa).
- Add the prepared pumpkin mixture to the glass.
- Gently pour 2 ounces of heavy cream over the mixture. For a beautiful layered effect, pour it slowly over the back of a spoon.
- Stir well to combine all the ingredients.
- Garnish with a sprinkle of ground cinnamon, a cinnamon stick, a dollop of whipped cream, or a dusting of pumpkin pie spice (optional).
- Serve immediately and enjoy!
Notes
Use high-quality ingredients for the best flavor. Don't overdo the pumpkin pie spice, start with ¼ teaspoon and adjust to your liking. Adjust the sweetness by adding more or less simple syrup. For a vegan version, substitute heavy cream with coconut cream or cashew cream. To minimize separation, make sure all your ingredients are cold.
