  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

  • Clean container for snow transport (optional)

Method

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the milk, heavy cream, sugar, vanilla extract, and salt.
  2. Whisk vigorously until the sugar is completely dissolved. Taste and adjust sweetness if needed.
  3. Refrigerate the mixture for at least 30 minutes.
  4. Bring the chilled base and a clean container to collect fresh snow.

  6. Gently fold the snow into the liquid using a whisk or spoon. Don't stir too vigorously.
  7. Continue adding snow until the mixture reaches a soft-serve consistency.
  8. Gently fold in your desired mix-ins.
  9. For a layered effect, alternate adding ice cream and mix-ins.
  10. Enjoy immediately as soft serve, or transfer to a freezer-safe container.
  11. Freeze for at least 30 minutes to an hour, or until desired firmness is reached.

Notes

Ensure the snow is fresh, clean, and free from contaminants. Work quickly to prevent melting. If the ice cream is too watery, add more heavy cream. If it's too icy, add more sugar or a tablespoon of vodka. Store leftover ice cream in the freezer, but consume it quickly as it melts faster than traditional ice cream. Experiment with different flavors like chocolate, berry, cookies and cream, peanut butter cup, or maple walnut.
