Method
- Slice the orange and lemon into thin rounds.
- If using fresh cranberries, rinse them thoroughly. If using frozen, no need to thaw them.
- In a large punch bowl or beverage dispenser, pour in the cranberry juice, pineapple juice, and orange juice. Stir well to combine.
- If adding vodka or rum, pour it into the juice mixture and stir well. Start with a smaller amount and taste as you go to achieve your desired strength.
- Cover the punch bowl or dispenser and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or even better, overnight. This allows the flavors to meld together beautifully.
- Right before serving, add the ginger ale to the punch bowl. Stir gently to combine, being careful not to stir out all the bubbles.
- Add the sliced oranges, lemons, and cranberries. If desired, add rosemary sprigs for garnish.
- Ladle the punch into glasses filled with ice and serve.
Notes
Make ahead: Prepare the punch up to the point of adding the ginger ale and store it in the refrigerator. Add the ginger ale just before serving to keep it bubbly.
Ice: Consider using a large ice ring instead of ice cubes to prevent the punch from becoming diluted.
Sweetness Adjustment: If too sweet, add lime juice or club soda. If not sweet enough, add simple syrup or agave nectar.
Kid-Friendly: Omit the vodka or rum for a non-alcoholic version.
Variations: Add mixed berries, substitute apple cider for cranberry juice with cinnamon and nutmeg, add mandarin oranges and coconut rum, or substitute lime-flavored sparkling water for ginger ale.
