Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef 80/20 blend
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 12 slider buns Hawaiian rolls
  • 6 slices American cheese, halved
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • Optional toppings: ketchup
  • Optional toppings: mustard
  • Optional toppings: pickles
  • Optional toppings: sautéed onions
  • 2-3 tablespoons water

Equipment

  • Large bowl
  • Measuring spoons
  • Measuring cups
  • Skillet or griddle
  • Spatula
  • Knife
  • Cutting board
  • Baking dish
  • Aluminum foil

Method

  1. Prepare the Meat: In a large bowl, gently combine the ground beef, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and Worcestershire sauce. Be careful not to overmix.
  2. Form the Patties: Divide the meat mixture into 12 equal portions. Gently form each portion into a small, flat patty, slightly larger than the slider buns.
  3. Cook the Patties: Heat a large skillet or griddle over medium-high heat. Add the patties and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until browned and cooked through.
  4. Add the Cheese: During the last minute of cooking, place a half-slice of cheese on top of each patty and let it melt.
  5. Assemble the Sliders: While the cheese is melting, slice the slider buns in half horizontally. Brush the top and bottom buns with melted butter.
  6. Build the Sliders: Place the cheesy patties on the bottom buns. Add your desired toppings.
  7. Steam the Sliders (Optional): Place the assembled sliders in a baking dish. Add a few tablespoons of water to the bottom of the dish, avoiding the buns. Cover tightly with foil and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 5-7 minutes.
  8. Serve Immediately: Enjoy your delicious cheeseburger sliders while they're hot and melty!

Notes

For best results, use an 80/20 blend of ground beef for moist and flavorful patties. Hawaiian rolls are recommended for their soft and slightly sweet flavor. Steaming the sliders is optional but highly recommended for extra soft buns and perfectly melted cheese. You can store leftover sliders in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently in the oven or microwave.
