Ingredients
  

  • 1.5-2 pounds salmon fillet, skin on or off
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 lemon, juiced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish optional

Method
 

  1. Preheat your broiler and place the oven rack 6-8 inches from the broiler.
  2. Lightly grease the wire rack of your broiler pan or baking sheet.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, paprika, dried thyme, salt, and pepper.
  4. Place the salmon fillet on the prepared broiler pan or baking sheet.
  5. Pour the marinade evenly over the salmon, ensuring it's well coated.
  6. Place the salmon under the broiler and broil for 8-12 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
  7. Check for doneness by inserting a fork into the thickest part of the salmon and gently twisting. If it flakes easily, it's ready.
  8. If the top of the salmon starts to brown too quickly, lower the oven rack one notch or tent the salmon loosely with foil.
  9. Carefully remove the broiled salmon from the oven.
  10. Garnish with fresh parsley, if desired.
  11. Serve immediately and enjoy.

Notes

To avoid dry salmon, don't overcook it, use a good marinade, and don't broil for too long. Broiling times can vary depending on your oven and the thickness of your salmon. A thinner fillet will cook faster than a thicker one. As a general rule, allow about 4-6 minutes per half-inch of thickness. Salmon is considered done when it reaches 145°F (63°C).
