Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup cranberry sauce homemade or canned
  • 1/4 cup chopped pecans or walnuts optional
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar

Equipment

  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper (optional)
  • Medium bowl
  • Measuring cups
  • Measuring spoons
  • Whisk or Spoon
  • Pastry brush

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a baking sheet or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, cranberry sauce, chopped nuts (if using), cinnamon, and nutmeg. Mix until well combined and smooth.
  3. Unroll the crescent roll dough on a clean surface. Separate the dough into the pre-cut triangles.
  4. Spoon a generous teaspoon of the cream cheese mixture onto the wide end of each crescent roll triangle.
  5. Starting at the wide end, roll up each triangle towards the point. Pinch the edges slightly to seal them.
  6. Place the rolled crescents onto the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Brush the tops with melted butter, and then sprinkle with granulated sugar.
  8. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crescents are golden brown and the filling is warmed through.
  9. Let the Cranberry Cream Cheese Crescent Bites cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Ensure the cream cheese is fully softened for a smooth filling. Don't overfill the crescents to prevent leakage during baking. Customize the filling with orange zest, cayenne pepper, or maple syrup. Assemble the bites ahead of time and refrigerate until ready to bake, adding a few extra minutes to the baking time. Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days or in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. Reheat in the oven or microwave to restore crispness.
