Method
- Line baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone baking mats.
- Arrange mini pretzel twists on the prepared baking sheets in the shape of hearts.
- Place chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until completely melted and smooth. If the chocolate is too thick, stir in a tablespoon of vegetable shortening or coconut oil to thin it out.
- Dip each pretzel heart into the melted chocolate using a fork or spoon, or transfer the melted chocolate to a small Ziploc bag or piping bag, snip off a tiny corner, and drizzle the chocolate over the pretzel hearts.
- While the chocolate is still wet, sprinkle generously with your favorite sprinkles.
- Place the baking sheets in the refrigerator or freezer for about 10-15 minutes, or until the chocolate is completely set.
- Gently peel the Chocolate Pretzel Hearts off the parchment paper and enjoy.
Notes
Store Chocolate Pretzel Hearts in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week, or in the refrigerator for up to two weeks. Customize with different sprinkles and colors to match any holiday or special occasion. For a peanut butter swirl, drizzle melted peanut butter over the chocolate before it sets. You can also drizzle melted white chocolate over dark chocolate for a beautiful contrast. Or sprinkle with sea salt for an extra salty-sweet kick.
