Method
- In a large pitcher, combine the tequila, orange liqueur, lime juice, agave nectar, and water.
- Stir well and taste. If it's too tart, add more agave nectar, a tablespoon at a time, until you reach your desired sweetness.
- Cover the pitcher and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or preferably overnight, to allow the flavors to meld.
- If desired, rim the glasses with salt or sugar by wetting the rim with a lime wedge and pressing it into salt or sugar on a small plate.
- Fill the prepared glasses with ice.
- Pour the Margarita Pitcher Mix over the ice.
- Garnish with a lime wedge and serve.
Notes
For a spicy margarita, add a few slices of jalapeƱo to the pitcher while chilling. For a strawberry margarita, muddle a handful of fresh strawberries and add them to the pitcher before chilling. Strain before serving. This mix can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Adjust sweetness by adding more agave nectar or tartness by adding more lime juice. Dilute with water if too strong. For a stronger drink, offer a tequila floater to guests.
