  • Mixing bowl
  • Measuring cups
  • Measuring spoons
  • Spatula
  • Spoon
  • Fine-mesh sieve

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, beat together softened cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
  3. Gently unroll the crescent roll dough and separate into triangles.
  4. Spread a thin layer of cream cheese mixture onto each triangle.
  5. Top with a spoonful of drained cranberry sauce.
  6. Roll up each triangle from the wide end to the point.
  7. Place the crescent rolls on the prepared baking sheet.
  8. Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with coarse sugar, if desired.
  9. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
  10. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Drain the cranberry sauce thoroughly to prevent soggy bottoms. Soften the cream cheese completely for a smooth filling. Don't overmix the cream cheese mixture. Seal the edges of the crescent rolls to prevent filling from leaking. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator. For a festive touch, sprinkle with powdered sugar after baking. Adding a pinch of orange zest or chopped walnuts to the cream cheese filling is a great variation.
