Super breakfast bowl

We don’t call it super for nothing; this nutrient power-house breakfast is healthy, low-cal and gluten-free. To top it all off, it’s easy and takes 5 minutes to make.

7 Ingredients


  • 1 small orange, peeled, white pith removed

  • 80g (1/2 cup) cooked quinoa (about 40g uncooked, see tip)

  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon, plus extra, to serve

  • 70g (1/2 cup) fresh blueberries

  • 2 tsp finely chopped roasted unsalted almonds

  • 3 tsp pepitas

  • 90g (1/3 cup) natural yoghurt

  • Step 1

    (1 small orange, peeled, white pith removed) over a bowl (to catch the juice). Use a sharp knife to remove the segments, cutting close to either side of the white membranes. Set aside segments.


  • Step 2

    Add the quinoa (80g (1/2 cup) cooked quinoa (about 40g uncooked, see tip)) and cinnamon (1/2 tsp ground cinnamon, plus extra, to serve) to bowl with juice. Stir until well combined. Add segments, blueberries (70g (1/2 cup) fresh blueberries), almonds (2 tsp finely chopped roasted unsalted almonds) and pepitas (3 tsp pepitas). Stir then top with yoghurt (90g (1/3 cup) natural yoghurt) and extra cinnamon.
