Spreadable Cherry Ripe

Made up of two gorgeous layers presented in a jar, this Cherry Ripe-inspired homemade spread would make the perfect edible gift.

7 Ingredients


  • 205ml sweetened condensed milk

  • 200g red glace cherries

  • 75g (1 cup) shredded coconut

  • 200g dark chocolate, finely chopped

  • 20g butter

  • 2 tbsp thickened cream

  • 2 x 52g Cherry Ripe chocolate bars, coarsely chopped

3 Method Steps


  • Step 1

    Place 80ml (1/3 cup) condensed milk, cherries

    (200g red glace cherries) and coconut (75g (1 cup) shredded coconut) in a food processor and process until well combined.


  • Step 2

    Place chocolate (200g dark chocolate, finely chopped), butter (20g butter) and 125ml (1/2 cup) condensed milk in a heatproof bowl over a saucepan of simmering water (make sure the bowl doesn’t touch the water). Stir occasionally until melted and smooth. (If the mixture splits, add the 2 tbsp cream and stir until smooth).

  • Step 3

    Layer the chocolate (2 x 52g Cherry Ripe chocolate bars, coarsely chopped) mixture and cherry mixture in one 500ml (2 cup) or two 250ml (1 cup) heatproof glass jar/s. Top with chopped Cherry Ripe. Seal and store in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
