Air fryer saltimbocca

When literally translated, ‘saltimbocca’ means ‘jump in the mouth’ – and that’s exactly what the delicious prosciutto and chicken combination do in this dish! Plus, you make it all in the air fryer… what could be simpler?

7 Ingredients

  • 2 small chicken breast fillets

  • 4 fresh sage leaves

  • 4 slices prosciutto

  • 1 bunch thick asparagus spears

  • Extra virgin olive oil, to drizzle

  • Lemon wedges, to serve

  • Bought hollandaise sauce, to serve

3 Method Steps

  • Step 1

    (2 small chicken breast fillets) piece with 2 sage leaves (4 fresh sage leaves), then wrap with the prosciutto slices (4 slices prosciutto) to secure the leaves. Place parcels, seam-side down in the air fryer. Spray with oil. Cook at 180°C for 8 minutes.

  • Step 2

    Add the asparagus (1 bunch thick asparagus spears) to the air fryer and spray with oil. Cook for 4 minutes or until chicken is cooked through.

  • Step 3

    Place chicken and asparagus on serving plates. Drizzle with oil and serve with lemon wedges (Lemon wedges, to serve) and sauce (Bought hollandaise sauce, to serve).

Recipe Notes


  • For the full Italian experience, swap hollandaise for pesto.
  • Add extra sage leaves to the air fryer at the same time as the asparagus and spray with oil. Serve these crispy leaves with the chicken for extra crunch.
