Air fryer Caramilk crumpet French toast


Finally, a sweet version of our viral cheesy crumpet garlic bread! This easy hack recipe shows you how to turn store-bought crumpets into breakfast, brunch or dessert. Smother them with 2-ingredient Caramilk butter, coat in a condensed milk egg mixture and air fry until golden.

7 Ingredients

  • 100g Caramilk chocolate, grated, plus extra to serve

  • 6g salted butter, softened

  • 6 round crumpets

  • 2 eggs

  • 1 tbsp milk

  • 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk

  • Thickened cream, whipped

4 Method Steps

  • Step 1

    Line the base of an air fryer with foil, ensuring it comes at least 1 inch up the sides of the basket.

    Combine Caramilk

    (100g Caramilk chocolate, grated, plus extra to serve) and butter (6g salted butter, softened) in a bowl. Divide into 6 portions. Spread each portion over each crumpet (6 round crumpets). Cut each crumpet in half and sandwich together.

  • Step 3

    Whisk eggs (2 eggs) with milk (1 tbsp milk) and 2 tbsp of sweetened condensed milk (1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk). Dip each crumpet sandwich in the egg mixture, coating well on all sides. Place in the air fryer basket. Repeat with remaining crumpet sandwiches. Pour over remaining sweetened condensed milk. Cook at 150C for 15 minutes or until crumpets are golden and caramelised.

  • Step 4

    To serve, grate over extra Caramilk and top with whipped cream (Thickened cream, whipped).
